According to statistics of Vietnam Customs, in 2020, two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Russia reached 4.85 billion USD, up 8% compared to 2019. Specifically:
a) Export turnover of Vietnam to the Russian Federation in 2020 reaches 2.85 billion USD, up 7% compared to 2019.
The items with good growth rates include: seafood (31.9%); vegetables and fruits (58.7%); wood and wood products (32.3%); rubber products (171.8%); rattan, bamboo and rattan products (28%); computers, electronic products and components (29.6%).

Although Vietnam’s exports to the Russian Federation fell sharply in the first months of the year due to the Covid-19 epidemic, in the year 2020 Vietnam’s exports to the Russian market still grew quite impressively due to continuous growth in the second half of the year. , Vietnam’s exports to the Russian Federation both increased over the same period in 2019 (only in October 2020, a slight decrease of -0.1%), specifically: June 2020 increased 22% compared to June 2019, July 2020 an increase of 42.2% compared to July 2019, August 2020, an increase of 24% compared to August 2019, September 2020, an increase of 40% compared to September 2019, and November 2020 by 24% compared to November 2019 and December 2020. 36% increase compared to December 2019. In which, the items with the largest contribution to growth are still the items with the largest proportion in the total value of exports (accounting for 54% of total exports) such as phones and accessories (average increase in 7 months: 82 %); computers, electronic products and components (60% average growth).

b) Vietnam’s import turnover of goods from Russia in 2020 will reach US $ 2 billion, up 9.6% from 2019.
The import commodity groups with strong growth rates include: raw plastic (619.4%); types of petroleum (132.6%); wood and wood products (87.8%); other petroleum products (41.3%); paper (34.3%), medicine (63.6%).

Export turnover of Vietnam to the LB Russia reached 3.73 billion USD, up 7.4%; Vietnam’s import turnover from Russia reached US $ 1.4 billion, up 34.8% over the same period in 2019.
