On January 18, the Pleiku City Police Department (Gia Lai Province) reported that, in coordination with Tan Son Commune Police, they had busted a coffee theft gang, arresting six suspects.
On January 16, the suspects broke into the coffee warehouse of Dang Cong Danh in Tan Son Commune, Pleiku City, and stole 18 sacks of dried coffee beans.
Following an investigation, Pleiku City police urgently arrested:
-
Ha Quoc Cuong (22),
-
Nguyen Hoang Trieu (17), and
-
Hua Doan Tai (28),
all residents of Hamlet 2, Tan Son Commune, Pleiku City.
Thanks to effective persuasion efforts, the remaining three members of the gang—
-
Nguyen Cong Thang (16),
-
Nguyen Minh Thanh Dat (18), and
-
Nguyen Duc Chien (15),
also from Tan Son Commune, voluntarily turned themselves in to Pleiku City police.
The gang’s method was to cut door locks with pliers and break into coffee storage warehouses to steal beans.
Notably, three of the thieves were high school students who, after being drawn into a life of idleness and indulgence, ended up violating the law.
