The Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) has recently issued a notice to local import and export associations regarding enhanced inspection measures for cauliflower imported from Vietnam.
According to TFDA, three consignments of Vietnamese cauliflower (classified under HS code 0704.10.00.00.7 – fresh or chilled cauliflower and broccoli) have failed inspection standards at border checkpoints over the past six months.
To ensure food safety and hygiene of imported products, TFDA announced that from August 26 to September 25, 2025, every shipment of Vietnamese cauliflower entering Taiwan will be subject to mandatory lot-by-lot inspection.
The agency also stated that if necessary, this inspection measure could be extended beyond the deadline, with updates published on the TFDA’s official website (without further written notice).
The Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei advises Vietnamese vegetable exporters—especially those shipping cauliflower—to strengthen quality control and comply with Taiwan’s import standards to avoid rejections or destruction of goods upon arrival.
