
Cambodia generated USD 266 million in revenue from natural rubber exports between January and July 2025, while domestic consumption surged 76% as rubber prices improved.

According to an official report released on Tuesday, Cambodia earned USD 266 million from natural rubber exportsduring the first seven months of 2025, marking a slight 1% decline compared with the same period last year.
The General Directorate of Rubber (GDR) reported that the country exported 147,071 tons of natural rubber between January and July 2025 — a 15.4% drop from the 173,915 tons shipped in the same period of 2024.
However, domestic rubber consumption increased sharply by 76%, reaching 64,978 tons in the first seven months of the year. Local sales generated USD 118.8 million in total revenue.
Khun Kakada, Deputy Director General of the GDR, stated in the report that “the average export price of natural rubber reached USD 1,812 per ton in the first seven months of 2025 — around USD 265 higher than during the same period last year.”
The Southeast Asian nation mainly exports its rubber to Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, and China.
As of 2025, Cambodia had 425,443 hectares of rubber plantations, of which 330,259 hectares — equivalent to 77.6% — were mature and ready for tapping, according to the GDR.
