Cambodia’s Rubber Exports Fall 12% Year-on-Year

According to the latest report from the General Directorate of Rubber (GDR) of Cambodia, the country’s rubber exports fell 12% year-on-year to 183,910 tons in the first eight months of 2025, compared to 209,733 tons in the same period last year.

Despite the decline in export volume, export earnings remained stable at USD 328.3 million, thanks to an increase in the average export price, which rose to USD 1,786 per ton — about USD 220 higher than a year ago.


Major Export Markets

Cambodia’s natural rubber is primarily exported to Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, and China, which remain the country’s key destinations for raw rubber exports.


Domestic Consumption Surges

While export volumes decreased, domestic consumption surged 89% in the same period, reaching 75,523 tons, generating nearly USD 137 million in domestic sales revenue.

This rapid increase reflects growing local demand for rubber-based manufacturing and intermediate processing within Cambodia.


Rubber Plantation Area

As of 2025, Cambodia’s total rubber plantation area stands at 425,443 hectares, of which 330,259 hectares (77.6%)are currently mature and ready for tapping.
