
July 23, 2025 – According to the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce, the country’s total trade with member nations of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) reached USD 16.47 billion in the first five months of 2025 — up 16.3% compared with USD 14.17 billion during the same period in 2024.
Export and Import Performance
Cambodia’s exports to RCEP member countries totaled USD 4.3 billion, marking an 8% increase from USD 3.97 billionin the same period last year.
Imports from the bloc surged to USD 12.17 billion, up 19.4% from USD 10.2 billion in 2024.
Top Five RCEP Trading Partners
The Ministry’s report highlights the five largest RCEP trading partners of Cambodia:

China: USD 7.6 billion (+27.5%)

Vietnam: USD 3.8 billion (+8%)

Thailand: USD 1.9 billion (+8.3%)

Japan: USD 1.0 billion (+28%)

Indonesia: USD 469 million (−2.2%)
These figures reaffirm Cambodia’s growing economic interdependence within the RCEP region and its increasing engagement with Asian economies.
Economic Integration Driving Growth
In recent years, Cambodia’s proactive policy of regional integration and economic connectivity has created favorable conditions for both trade and investment.
Under the 7th Royal Government, the country has pursued a clear strategy to attract foreign investment, strengthen industrial production, and boost the value-added of export products.
Officials emphasize that participation in RCEP — the world’s largest free trade agreement — continues to play a pivotal role in expanding Cambodia’s export markets, improving competitiveness, and fostering sustainable economic growth through regional collaboration.
