The Chư Mom Ray Rubber Company has become a standout performer in producing SVR 10 Mix, one of the Vietnam Rubber Group’s (VRG) key new product lines. Leveraging its modern factory and SVR 10 processing system, the company has quickly adapted to market demand, emerging as a leading producer of SVR 10 Mix not only in Vietnam’s Central Highlands but across the entire rubber industry.
Seizing Market Opportunities
According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in 2023, mixed rubber (Mixtures of Natural and Synthetic Rubber) continued to dominate export markets, accounting for nearly 66% of Vietnam’s total rubber export volume, primarily shipped to China.
The demand for mixed rubber (SVR 10 Mix and SVR 3L Mix) is growing rapidly, particularly in China and the Middle East, where buyers are willing to pay higher prices than for standard natural rubber products.
Recognizing this potential, under VRG’s direction and the support of the Industrial Division and Business Market Department, Chư Mom Ray Rubber was assigned to trial-produce one ton of SVR 10 Mix manually at the end of 2022.
With strong determination to diversify product lines and capture new market opportunities, the company rapidly installed new equipment after being assigned a production target of 3,500 tons. With technical assistance from the Rubber Engineering JSC, the new SVR 10 Mix processing line was operational within just 15 days.
By the end of 2023, the company had produced 5,334 tons of SVR 10 Mix, achieving 152% of its production plan.
General Director Trần Xuân Thịnh shared:
“We are honored to be chosen by VRG to pilot and scale up this new product line. With modern facilities, a newly built factory, and reliable raw material sources, we quickly seized the opportunity to produce SVR 10 Mix to meet growing market demand.”
Continuous Improvement in Product Quality
Despite early success, the initial production phase presented several challenges. Mr. Thịnh explained:
“With VRG’s guidance and support from the Industrial and Business Market Departments, our SVR 10 Mix product achieved high-quality standards in compliance with TCCS 116:2022. All production batches were sold successfully, and no customer complaints have been received.”
However, the company identified some operational inefficiencies:
-
The production system involves three main machines — rubber sheet cutter, granulator, and mixing screw conveyor — currently operating independently rather than as an integrated line. This setup increases labor demand and causes manual handling delays.
-
During the final drying process, synthetic rubber granules often adhere to the container walls and base, slowing down cleaning and causing material loss, which can affect the mixing ratio by about 2.5%.
To address these issues, the company proposed several improvements:
-
Integrate conveyors between machines to streamline operations, reduce manual handling, and improve production flow.
-
Upgrade the granulator design to minimize sticking and improve particle uniformity.
-
Enhance drying containers to reduce residue buildup and improve efficiency.
These innovations are expected to save labor, reduce equipment costs, and increase profit per ton of product, while also ensuring consistent product quality and higher productivity.
