5. Trade Offices in Europe and the Americas

Vietnamese trade offices actively:

  • Supplied updated market intelligence,

  • Supported trade promotion and investment efforts, and

  • Protected Vietnamese enterprises’ interests in foreign markets.

2025 Orientation: Building Sustainable and Strategic Market Partnerships

In his keynote address, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long highly commended the department’s 2024 achievements, particularly its resilience amid complex geopolitical and economic shifts across Europe and the Americas.

He also pointed out areas for improvement and proposed six strategic directions for 2025:

  1. Align with National Foreign Policy: Ensure all market development activities adhere to the Party and State’s diplomatic strategies; maximize political–diplomatic relations to expand economic and trade cooperation.

  2. Strengthen Policy Research and Early-Warning Capacity: Proactively assess policy shifts in partner countries and advise the government on effective responses; enhance market intelligence and forecasting.

  3. Deepen FTA Utilization and Expand New Agreements: Promote the effective use of existing trade agreements while exploring new FTAs with potential partners in the Americas and Europe.

  4. Develop Human Resources: Focus on recruitment, training, and professional development of young officials; strengthen personnel planning and rotation.

  5. Enhance Enterprise Connectivity: Act as a bridge between domestic exporters and foreign buyers, promoting two-way trade and investment.

  6. Improve Communication and Information Sharing: Work closely with MOIT’s communication units and the media to provide accurate, timely market updates to enterprises.
