Goal by 2030: Large-Scale Production of Refined Rubber Wood Products

By 2030, the Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG) aims to fully leverage the potential and advantages of the rubber industry to create a wide range of high-value, branded wood products with strong competitiveness. The sector will continue to be one of the key pillars contributing to the sustainable growth of the Group.

Developing a Comprehensive and Modern Rubber Wood Processing Industry

The development of rubber wood processing will align with VRG’s wood industry restructuring strategy—focusing on large-scale refined production, value enhancement, and synchronized development across the entire chain: harvesting, processing, and consumption.

VRG plans to apply modern commercial models, integrating digital technologies and e-commerce solutions to expand domestic and international markets while building a distinctive VRG wood brand associated with legally sourced, certified sustainable wood.

Priority Product Groups for Development

VRG will prioritize the production and processing of the following major product categories:

  • Refined interior furniture and flooring products

  • Engineered wood products such as MDF, HDF, plywood, and particle boards

The Group is also researching the production of new product lines, including Ply Wood, Okal boards, and oriented strand boards (OSB), based on evolving market and consumer demand in Vietnam.

Economic Targets and Growth Objectives

The rubber wood industry under VRG will build upon existing capabilities, aiming for an annual revenue and profit growth rate of 5–7%.

  • By 2026, the total revenue of VRG’s wood sector is expected to reach VND 10,891 billion.

  • By 2030, the sector aims for VND 11,648 billion in revenue and VND 1,437 billion in profit, maintaining its vital contribution to the Group’s overall growth.

Brand Building and Sustainability Certification

VRG will establish a Chain of Custody (CoC) certification system and wood traceability mechanisms to ensure all rubber wood products meet legal and sustainable sourcing standards.

The Group’s production strategy will focus on:

  • Reducing the share of raw sawn timber and laminated boards

  • Increasing the proportion of deeply processed, refined wood products

  • Investing in modern machinery and technology

  • Creating a unified VRG wood brand that embodies quality, sustainability, and innovation

Through these initiatives, VRG aims to position itself as a leader in Vietnam’s refined rubber wood sector, promoting environmentally responsible and value-added production for global markets.
