Hawa Expo 2025 Opens in Ho Chi Minh City – Showcasing Vietnam’s Leading Furniture and Handicraft Exports

On the evening of March 4, the Hawa Expo 2025 — Vietnam’s premier export furniture and interior design trade fair — officially opened in Ho Chi Minh City.
The event features over 350 booths from Vietnam’s top furniture and handicraft exporters, proudly promoting “Made in Vietnam” products to international buyers and partners.

1. Gathering Vietnam’s Finest Export Products

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Vũ Bá Phú, Director General of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE)under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, emphasized that Hawa Expo 2025 is one of the most significant trade promotion events in Vietnam’s wood processing and furniture industry.
He affirmed the fair’s strategic role as a bridge for business cooperation, brand development, and global competitiveness.

“The Trade Promotion Agency always supports high-quality and in-depth trade events like Hawa Expo, which truly foster business connectivity and export growth,” Mr. Phú said.

The exhibition brings together top-tier export products under the “Made in Vietnam” brand — from furniture and home décor to uniquely designed handicrafts.
It also serves as a platform for businesses to access market insights, improve competitiveness, and capture emerging global trends.

2. Strengthening Vietnam’s Position in the Global Wood Industry

According to Mr. Phú, the wood processing and furniture sector plays a crucial role in Vietnam’s economy, both in export value and in reinforcing the country’s position on the global trade map.

Hawa Expo 2025 is jointly organized by five major wood industry associationsViforest, HAWA, BIFA, DOWA,and FPA Bình Định — from March 5–7, 2025.
The event is not only a trade playground but also a driving force for Vietnam’s furniture industry to assert its position in global markets.

The organizing committee noted that participating enterprises were carefully selected, ensuring they have export-ready factories in Vietnam, international adaptability, and sustainable development strategies.

3. Vietnam Among the World’s Leading Wood and Furniture Exporters

Vietnam’s wood and furniture exports have grown strongly in recent years.
In 2024, the industry achieved export revenue exceeding USD 16.28 billion, up 20.9% year-on-year (equivalent to USD 2.81 billion).
This performance cements Vietnam’s status among the world’s top furniture-exporting countries.

In January 2025 alone, exports reached USD 1.42 billion, making wood products one of seven export sectors exceeding USD 1 billion in turnover — accounting for 67.9% of total national exports.

From a raw-material exporter, Vietnam has transformed into a global furniture manufacturing hub, known for value-added products, modern technology, and compliance with international standards.

4. Toward Sustainable, Green, and High-Value Growth

With growing global demand for eco-friendly and sustainable furniture, Vietnam’s wood industry is increasingly using certified materials, innovative designs, and optimized supply chains to meet international standards.

Mr. Phú highlighted that wood products, being natural and environmentally friendly, have significant potential to contribute to Vietnam’s carbon-neutral and sustainable development goals.
Urbanization and industrial growth continue to drive rising demand for both furniture and engineered wood products.

5. Export Strategy Toward 2030: USD 25 Billion Target

To keep pace with global trends, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE) will continue to collaborate with associations and businesses to focus on several key priorities:

  • Develop an export promotion strategy aiming to achieve USD 25 billion in wood and forest product exports by 2030.

  • Encourage sustainable production using certified timber and low-emission manufacturing.

  • Support enterprises in obtaining international certifications to enhance market access and minimize legal or commercial risks.

  • Strengthen trade promotion and branding through specialized exhibitions, overseas trade missions, and training programs on design, digital transformation, and green growth.

6. Conclusion: Hawa Expo 2025 – A Gateway to the Global Market

Hawa Expo 2025 represents Vietnam’s commitment to becoming a sustainable, innovative, and high-quality furniture exporter.
With government backing and strong industry participation, the event provides a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to connect with global buyers, showcase craftsmanship, and solidify Vietnam’s reputation as a world-class furniture hub.
