How to mix and apply plant protection chemicals

1. Pesticides That Require Mixing with Water

Formulations:

  • BHN/WP (Wettable Powder)

  • ND/EC/SC (Emulsifiable Concentrate/Suspension Concentrate)

  • DD/L (Liquid Solution)

Important:

  • Always use clean, clear water free of impurities and iron (avoid acidic or muddy water).

Mixing Steps:

  1. Pour one-third (1/3) of the required clean water into the spray tank.

  2. Add the exact dosage of pesticide and any adhesive agents (if required), then stir or shake well until fully dissolved.

  3. Add the remaining two-thirds (2/3) of water, shake again until the mixture is completely uniform before spraying.

Precautions:

  • Use the correct type of sprayer recommended for pesticides.

  • Spray evenly and in the correct manner.

  • Always use the mixed solution within the same day; do not store it for later use.

  • Follow personal safety rules — wear protective clothing, gloves, and masks during preparation and spraying.

  • Maintain safe isolation distances for humans and animals to prevent poisoning or contamination.

2. Pesticides That Do Not Require Mixing

Formulations:

  • Granules (H, G)

  • Dust or Powder (B, D)

Application Guidelines:

  • Calculate the exact dosage per treatment area or per tree.

  • Use gloved hands or a mechanical applicator to apply pesticides evenly and safely.

  • Always follow equipment instructions to ensure correct usage and maximum efficiency.
