The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) of India announced on February 21, 2025, that it has received an application requesting an anti-dumping investigation into imports of Elastomeric Filament Yarn originating from or exported by China and Vietnam.
Details of the Product Under Investigation
The product in question is Elastomeric Filament Yarn, classified under HS Codes 5402, 5403, and 5404.
This product had previously been subject to anti-dumping duties by India on exports from Vietnam and China in 2016. However, following a sunset review in 2022, the Indian Ministry of Finance decided to remove the duties.
If the DGTR initiates a new investigation, this will mark the second time Vietnam’s exports of this product have faced anti-dumping proceedings in India.
Notably, yarn and textile products are among the most frequently investigated items under global trade defense measures.

To prepare for and respond effectively to this potential investigation, the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) advises industry associations and exporters to:
