Invitation to Join the Logistics Connectivity Mission to the UAE and Qatar

1. Overview of the Business Mission

The Import and Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) will organize a business delegation on logistics connectivity to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar from April 6–14, 2025 (including travel time).

The program aims to implement the Government’s logistics development policies under:

  • Decision No. 221/QĐ-TTg (February 22, 2021) – amending Decision No. 200/QĐ-TTg on enhancing Vietnam’s logistics competitiveness through 2025.

  • Decision No. 309/QĐ-BCT (February 3, 2025) – approving the Ministry’s 2025 Action Plan to improve the competitiveness and development of national logistics services.

The mission will strengthen market linkages and cooperation in the logistics sector between Vietnam and the Middle East region.

2. Delegation Composition and Itinerary

The mission will be led by the Director of the Import and Export Department and include around 20 – 25 representatives from logistics associations and import-export enterprises nationwide.

Tentative Schedule:

  • April 6–8, 2025 – Qatar: Meetings with government agencies, associations, logistics enterprises, and site visits to ports and free-trade zones.

  • April 9–10, 2025 – Abu Dhabi (UAE): Participation in a seminar on Vietnam–UAE logistics cooperation and B2B business networking sessions.

  • April 10–13, 2025 – Dubai (UAE): Working sessions with logistics companies, port authorities, and free-zone operators.

These activities are designed to deepen bilateral ties, promote cooperation in logistics, and help Vietnamese enterprises explore investment and partnership opportunities.

3. Expanding Logistics Cooperation with the Middle East

The Middle East represents a fast-growing logistics hub, with the market valued at USD 163.6 billion in 2024, expected to reach USD 222.6 billion by 2029 (CAGR > 6.3%).

With its strategic location, Vietnam has the potential to become a trans-shipment gateway between Asia and the Middle East. Cooperation with leading logistics groups such as Abu Dhabi Ports Group, DP World, and Qatar Free Zones will improve supply-chain efficiency and connectivity between Vietnam, the Middle East, and North Africa.

The forthcoming Vietnam–UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) will further open new opportunities for trade, investment, and logistics collaboration between the two regions.

4. Previous and Upcoming Logistics Initiatives

In recent years, the Import and Export Department has led multiple outbound logistics missions to Cambodia, Singapore, Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, connecting Vietnamese logistics firms with global partners.

Such initiatives have been widely appreciated by both local authorities and business communities for their timeliness and effectiveness in creating new investment and cooperation opportunities.

5. Participation and Registration

Enterprises, associations, and organizations interested in joining the mission are invited to register with the Import and Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) no later than March 10, 2025, to complete relevant procedures.

This mission is an excellent opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to:

  • Engage directly with logistics companies and potential partners in the Middle East.

  • Exchange insights on market trends and logistics development strategies.

  • Enhance cooperation, build long-term partnerships, and optimize supply-chain efficiency between Vietnam and the region.
