On the morning of March 25, the delegation visited and held talks with the Vietnamese Embassy in India.
Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai warmly welcomed the delegation and noted that the Vietnam–India relationship continues to expand in multiple sectors. In recent years, many Vietnamese business delegations have visited India to explore cooperation opportunities.
The Ambassador shared valuable insights on how to approach the Indian market, emphasizing that India is a diverse and complex market, and perseverance is essential when engaging with Indian partners. He also highlighted the importance of partnering with major distributors to help Vietnamese products gain broader recognition among Indian consumers.
Representing Vietrade, Mr. Le Hong Minh expressed his gratitude for the Embassy’s support, stressing that India is a key market that attracts increasing attention from Vietnamese enterprises.
Members of the delegation shared their expectations and received positive feedback from the Embassy on potential business collaborations.
2. Trade Meetings and Business Networking
In the afternoon, the delegation visited the Vietnam Trade Office in India, where they met with the Global Trade and Technology Council of India (GTTCI) and several of its member companies.
Vietnamese enterprises introduced their products and held direct exchanges with Indian counterparts. Notably, Van Loc Phat Company successfully established connections with Indian importers interested in its products.
Continuing the program, on March 26, a Vietnam–India Trade Promotion Conference was held at the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) in New Delhi, attracting over 80 delegates from government agencies, trade organizations, business associations, and enterprises of both countries.
3. Expanding Partnership Opportunities in Key Sectors
Delivering the opening speech, Mr. Ranjeet Mehta, Secretary General and CEO of PHDCCI, welcomed the Vietnamese business delegation and emphasized the importance of organizing such missions to enhance direct business cooperationand facilitate contract signing opportunities.
He noted that Vietnam and India hold great potential for collaboration in agriculture, information technology, artificial intelligence, and robotics. Direct business interactions, he said, play a vital role in strengthening bilateral trade alongside governmental policy support.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Le Hong Minh of Vietrade affirmed that over the past 50 years, the Vietnam–India traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership have flourished through active exchanges at all levels — including government, parliament, and people-to-people channels.
The “Vietnam–India Joint Vision Statement for Peace, Prosperity, and People” (2020) has added momentum to bilateral cooperation in various sectors.
With nearly 30 participating Vietnamese companies from fields such as agriculture, food, consumer goods, textiles, and manufacturing, the trade mission serves as a practical step to foster stronger business linkages between the two nations.
4. Toward a USD 20 Billion Bilateral Trade Target
Commercial Counselor Bui Trung Thuong emphasized that the conference was part of efforts to implement the outcomes of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to India, aiming to raise bilateral trade turnover to USD 20 billion by 2030.
He noted that the participating Vietnamese firms represent key sectors with strong export potential to India, including processed foods, light industry, spices, pepper, coffee, electronics, and textiles.
These B2B meetings offered invaluable opportunities to connect, explore partnerships, and build foundations for future cooperation. They also helped enterprises gain deeper insights into each other’s business environments, paving the way for sustainable trade growth.
At the conclusion of the conference, participants joined one-on-one business matchmaking sessions (B2B) at the PHDCCI headquarters. Nearly 100 business interactions took place, resulting in promising connections for future collaboration.
5. Vietnam Enterprises to Join Sourcex India 2025
As part of the mission, on March 27–28, the delegation will participate in Sourcex India 2025 — one of India’s most prestigious international trade fairs, covering food and non-food products, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), and services.
The fair attracts numerous Indian exhibitors and over 250 global buyers. During the event, Vietnamese companies will also meet with the Buying Agents Association (BAA) to engage in targeted business matchmaking aligned with their product categories.
Conclusion
The trade promotion mission to India demonstrates Vietnam’s strong commitment to expanding business connectivity, enhancing export competitiveness, and deepening the strategic partnership between the two nations.
Through sustained cooperation and proactive engagement, Vietnamese enterprises are laying the groundwork for long-term success in the Indian market.
