On April 10, 2025, within the framework of the Food and Beverage Exhibition FHA 2025 (held from April 8–11, 2025), the Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore hosted a trade connection conference in collaboration with the Investment and Trade Promotion Center of Ho Chi Minh City (ITPC) and the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City.
The event attracted a large number of visitors, Singaporean partners, and international delegates attending FHA 2025.
Strengthening Business Networks Between Vietnam and Singapore
At the conference, Mr. Tran Phu Lu, Director of ITPC Ho Chi Minh City, introduced the delegation of Vietnamese companies participating in FHA 2025.
He highlighted that Vietnamese businesses showcased high-quality, distinctive food products not only aimed at the Singapore market but also for expansion into larger markets such as the U.S., the EU, and North Asia.
Singaporean companies visiting the Vietnam Pavilion had the opportunity to learn more about Vietnam’s food sector and Ho Chi Minh City’s key products.
Mr. Lu expressed his hope that Vietnamese and Singaporean enterprises could foster cooperation, explore new business opportunities, and build long-term trade relations.
Vietnam’s Food Industry – A Trusted Partner in Singapore
Mr. Cao Xuan Thang, Commercial Counsellor and Head of the Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore, emphasized Vietnam’s rich agricultural diversity and favorable climate, which have enabled the country to produce premium, high-value food products trusted by Singaporean consumers.
He noted that Vietnam currently ranks as:
-
The 3rd largest rice exporter to Singapore, and
-
The 5th largest seafood supplier to the market.
Other promising Vietnamese products include pepper, cashew nuts, tea, coffee, poultry, and eggs, all of which have strong export potential to Singapore.
The conference created a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to introduce their products and brands to Singaporean importers. Several companies successfully connected with potential partners and agreed to continue discussions for future cooperation.
Trade Promotion Amid Global Market Fluctuations
Given the complex dynamics of global trade — particularly the rise in U.S. import tariffs — expanding export markets and strengthening trade promotion activities have become vital strategies for Vietnam.
Participation in major exhibitions such as FHA Singapore 2025 helps increase the visibility of Vietnamese products, promote national brands, and expand Vietnam’s export footprint in high-potential markets.
This year, Vietnam’s delegation to FHA Singapore 2025 included 52 food enterprises, showcasing a wide range of products such as coffee, tea, milk, dried fruits, cashew nuts, noodles, spices, and condiments.
According to the FHA 2025 organizers, the event is expected to welcome approximately 65,000 visitors this year.
