Promoting Vietnamese Organic Agricultural Products at the World’s Leading Organic Food Fair

At Biofach 2025 — the world’s leading international trade fair for organic food — the Vietnam Trade Office in Germany and the Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association (VOAA) jointly organized a business networking program (B2B) connecting 12 Vietnamese organic export and import enterprises with German and European partners.

Connecting Vietnamese and European Organic Producers

According to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) correspondent in Germany, the event took place on February 11, 2025, in Nuremberg (Nürnberg), Bavaria, within the framework of Biofach 2025.
Participants included:

  • Ms. Đặng Thị Thanh Phương, Commercial Counselor, Head of the Vietnam Trade Office in Germany;

  • Ms. Đặng Thị Bích Hường, Vice President of VOAA;

  • Mr. Marco Schlüter, Director of Strategy and International Relations, Naturland – German Organic Farmers Association;

  • Representatives of German and European premium food enterprises such as Premium Food Group, and Asian food importers including Tran Soan GmbH.

Vietnam’s Organic Pavilion Highlights Diverse, Certified Products

Ms. Đặng Thị Bích Hường, VOAA Vice President, shared that the Association organized the Vietnam Pavilion (Organic of Vietnam) at Biofach 2025, featuring a more diverse and innovative product range than previous years.

Vietnamese companies showcased traditional exports such as:

  • Tea (Bắc Hà Company)

  • Coffee (FNB Vietnam, Godere Vietnam)

  • Spices – cinnamon, anise, pepper (Mạnh Cường Group, Hanfimex Group, Visimex Saigon)

  • Cashew nuts (Long Sơn)

In addition, new organic products drew attention, including:

  • Instant salted coffee from Hapii Coffee

  • Coconut nectar-based products from Sokfarm

  • Biodegradable tableware from Buyo Bioplastics

  • Organic shampoo and body wash from ONA Global and Cỏ Cây Hoa Lá

Many products have obtained prestigious international certifications such as JAS, Control Union, BioTrade, USDA Organic, For Life, and GlobalG.A.P.

Strengthening German–Vietnamese Organic Cooperation

Mr. Marco Schlüter of Naturland highlighted that the association operates in 60 countries, with an active presence in Southeast Asia, particularly in the Philippines and Vietnam.

Over the past four years, Naturland has cooperated with VOAA through a capacity-building project funded by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
He emphasized that beyond trade promotion, the broader goal is “to work together to protect the environment and regenerate global ecosystems.”

Germany – Key Gateway for Vietnamese Organic Exports

Ms. Đặng Thị Thanh Phương, Vietnam’s Commercial Counselor in Germany, noted that bilateral trade between Vietnam and Germany has continued to grow steadily.

In 2024, total two-way trade reached USD 11.7 billion, with Vietnam’s exports amounting to USD 7.43 billion, making Vietnam Germany’s largest trading partner in ASEAN.

Agricultural exports accounted for over 12% of Vietnam’s total exports to Germany; however, organic products still represent a small share.
As Vietnam expands organic farming and production areas, and Germany remains one of the global leaders in organic consumption and production, this creates strong potential for bilateral cooperation.

Vibrant B2B Networking at Biofach 2025

The B2B networking session attracted active participation from Vietnamese exporters, German importers, and representatives from other countries attending Biofach.

Organic spices, tea, coffee, coconut, and personal care products were among the highlights of the Vietnam Pavilion, drawing strong interest from visitors and distributors.

Ms. Đặng Thị Bích Hường emphasized that Biofach is a key event for Vietnam’s organic sector, especially as Germany’s organic food consumption increased by 5% in 2024 despite economic challenges.

This positive trend presents valuable opportunities for Vietnamese organic products to penetrate the German and broader European markets in 2025.
