Rubber Industry College Promotes Staff Training Program in Laos

In line with the human resource development cooperation plan between the Rubber Industry College (RIC) and Vietnam – Laos Rubber Joint Stock Company (VietLao Rubber), the college officially launched a “Team Management” training course on the evening of October 24 at VietLao Rubber.

A total of 86 trainees, including technical staff, plantation managers, and team leaders, are participating in the course — marking another milestone in VRG’s cross-border education collaboration efforts.

Commitment to Sustainable Human Resource Development

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Le Van Kich, Principal of the Rubber Industry College, expressed gratitude to VietLao Rubber’s leadership for supporting the college’s training initiatives.

“We sincerely appreciate VietLao Rubber’s cooperation and trust. We hope to continue this partnership in the future to jointly enhance the quality of human resource training,” said Mr. Kich.

He also encouraged instructors from the Faculty of Agronomy to fully utilize their expertise and experience to deliver practical, high-quality lessons, ensuring the course achieves the expected outcomes for both institutions.

Enhancing Skills for Rubber Plantation Management

Representing VietLao Rubber, Mr. Pham Van Thong, Deputy General Director, highlighted the importance of this cooperation:

“This is the first time our company has collaborated with the Rubber Industry College on staff training. We hope this will be the foundation for future training programs to continuously improve and update our staff’s technical and managerial knowledge,” he said.

He also reminded trainees to follow class regulations, stay disciplined, and absorb the lessons actively to apply them effectively in day-to-day plantation management.

Comprehensive and Practical Training Modules

Taking place during the final quarter’s peak production period, the training course is held in the evenings from October 24 to 31, 2023.
The curriculum covers four key modules:

  1. Rubber latex harvesting techniques

  2. Disease prevention and pest control for rubber trees

  3. Rubber plantation management practices

  4. Leadership psychology and management skills

Through this program, both institutions aim to strengthen the professional competence and leadership capacity of VietLao Rubber’s field managers, contributing to the sustainable development of the Vietnam – Laos rubber cooperation model.
