Mr. Bui Trung Thuong, Vietnam’s Commercial Counsellor in India, attended and delivered a keynote speech emphasizing Vietnam’s growing importance as a strategic logistics hub in Asia.
He noted:
“Vietnam is emerging as a logistics powerhouse, supported by modern infrastructure, multiple free trade agreements such as RCEP and CPTPP, and the rapid expansion of e-commerce. We look forward to enhancing cooperation with India and Asia-Pacific partners to promote green and sustainable logistics solutions.”
Mr. Thuong also highlighted the importance of digital transformation and supportive policies to improve supply chain efficiency and resilience.
Strengthening Bilateral Logistics Cooperation
The conference served as a valuable opportunity for Vietnam, represented by the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA), to deepen collaboration with India, one of the fastest-growing logistics markets in the region.
ACAAI, with nearly 600 members, plays a leading role in India’s air cargo and logistics sectors, representing IATA-accredited freight forwarders, airlines, and training institutions.
Mr. C.K. Govil, ACAAI President, reaffirmed India’s commitment to regional trade facilitation and logistics innovation, emphasizing the importance of partnership and shared growth between India and ASEAN countries.
Promoting FIATA World Congress 2025 in Hanoi
On behalf of VLA, Mr. Thuong invited the global logistics community to participate in the upcoming FIATA World Congress 2025, scheduled for October 6–10, 2025, at the National Convention Center, Hanoi, Vietnam.
Under the theme “Green & Resilient Logistics,” the event—often referred to as the “Olympics of the logistics industry”—is expected to attract over 1,000 delegates from 150 countries and territories, focusing on sustainable logistics solutions, digital transformation, and resilient global supply chains.
In conjunction with the congress, the Vietnam International Logistics Exhibition (VILOG 2025) will take place from July 31 to August 2, 2025, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City.
With the theme “Green Logistics – The Foundation for Sustainable Development,” VILOG 2025 anticipates more than 25,000 visitors and 350 exhibitors from 20 countries, showcasing cutting-edge technologies in transportation, smart warehousing, cold chain, and logistics innovations. The exhibition will feature workshops such as:
-
“Developing Green Skills for the Logistics Workforce”
-
“Safe and Green Logistics through Integrated Road and Waterway Transport”
Delegates will also participate in site visits to seaports and logistics centers, gaining practical insights into Vietnam’s modern logistics infrastructure.
Expanding the Vietnam–India Trade and Logistics Partnership
Mr. Thuong’s participation in FIATA-RAP 2025 underscored the growing Vietnam–India trade relationship, with bilateral trade reaching USD 15 billion in 2024.
The event provided an important platform for Vietnam to present its achievements in logistics and digital platforms while exploring new cooperation opportunities with India in aviation, multimodal transport, and sustainable logistics.
As global supply chains undergo structural transformation, Vietnam continues to affirm its role as an active, innovative partner in promoting green growth, trade facilitation, and resilient logistics across the Asia-Pacific region.
