Sustainable Certification Enhances Brand Value of Phu Rieng Rubber Products

CSVN – For many years, Phu Rieng Rubber Company Ltd. (VRG member) has consistently exceeded its sales targets, earning recognition from the Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG) as one of the industry’s bright spots.
In an interview with Cao su Việt Nam, Mr. Huỳnh Tấn Bửu – Head of the Market & Business Department – shared key solutions to maintain and expand rubber market consumption.

Stable Growth in Consumption Despite Market Challenges

“Phu Rieng Rubber has always focused on building a stable customer network both domestically and internationally,” said Mr. Bửu.

Thanks to this, despite volatile global rubber markets and persistently low prices, the company’s sales consistently surpassed VRG’s assigned targets.

In 2022, total sales reached 30,976 tons, including 10,991 tons exported or outsourced for export (accounting for 35.5% of total sales).
Export turnover hit USD 19.3 million, with an average selling price of VND 38.2 million per ton.

Currently, Phu Rieng Rubber’s products are exported to more than 30 countries, and the company has been approved as a global supplier for leading tire brands such as:

  • Bridgestone (Japan)

  • Kumho (South Korea)

  • Nokian (Finland)

  • Cheng Shin (Taiwan)

These international clients demand stringent product quality and sustainability compliance, reinforcing Phu Rieng’s position as a trusted global supplier.

Key Strategies to Expand Sustainable Market Reach

Mr. Bửu emphasized that the company aims to focus on high-demand, high-value markets—particularly end-users in developed economies who prioritize quality, environmental standards, and sustainability.

He outlined two key directions for 2023 and beyond:

1. Strengthen Production–Marketing Coordination

Enhance collaboration between departments and processing factories to align production with market demand, prioritizing high-value product categories.
Negotiate and secure long-term supply contracts with major buyers—especially end-users in the industrial rubber and tire manufacturing sectors.

2. Promote Sustainable Certification as a Competitive Advantage

Since 2019, Phu Rieng Rubber has been certified with the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC-CoC)—a globally recognized standard for sustainable forest management and product traceability.

This certification has elevated the company’s brand value and serves as a strategic marketing asset.

“We plan to actively promote our PEFC certification to both domestic and international customers,” Mr. Bửu explained.
“This includes providing information on how to verify our certification via the PEFC website and highlighting it across our product labels and corporate communications.”

The company also collaborates with partners to develop marketing materials and branding campaigns that emphasize PEFC-certified sustainability as a distinctive hallmark of the Phu Rieng Rubber brand.
