Vietnam Participates in the Kerala Global Investment Summit 2025 in India

From February 21–22, 2025, a Vietnamese delegation led by Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai attended the Kerala Global Investment Summit 2025, held at the Lulu Bolgatty International Convention Centre in Kochi, Kerala State, India.

The event served as an important platform to promote economic, trade, investment, and tourism cooperation between Kerala and international partners, including Vietnam.


Vietnamese Delegation at the Summit

In addition to Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai, the delegation included:

  • Mr. Bui Trung Thuong, Trade Counselor of Vietnam in India;

  • Officials from the Embassy of Vietnam in India, representing the Political-Economic-Cultural Section, Trade Office, Science and Technology Unit, and the Voice of Vietnam;

  • A working group from the Department of Industry and Trade of Lai Chau Province, led by Director Vuong The Man;

  • Representatives of businesses from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Lai Chau, and Dak Lak, as well as a Vietnamese art and culinary team.


Vietnam’s Key Activities at the Summit

During the two-day summit, the Vietnamese delegation organized a series of activities to promote Vietnam’s image, people, and economic potential, including:

1. Vietnam Exhibition Booth

Featuring displays on tourism, aviation, and key agricultural and food products, along with specialty goods from Lai Chau Province, attracting strong interest from visitors.

2. “Vietnam – Kerala Business Meet”

A dedicated business forum that connected Vietnamese and Kerala enterprises, creating opportunities for trade and investment discussions across various sectors.

3. B2B Networking Sessions

Vietnamese companies showcased their products and services, while engaging with potential partners and investorsfrom India.

4. Cultural and Artistic Exchange

A series of cultural performances and art shows introduced the beauty of Vietnamese culture, helping strengthen people-to-people ties between Vietnam and India.

5. Meetings with Startups and Technology Organizations

The delegation met with Kerala Startup Mission, Fablab, and Maker Village to study Kerala’s startup ecosystem and innovation model.

6. Visits to Sustainable Development Models

Delegates toured Cochin International Airport—the world’s first solar-powered airport—and the Metro Boat system, an innovative and eco-friendly transport model in Kerala.


Opportunities for Cooperation Between Vietnam and Kerala

Kerala is recognized for its business-friendly policies, modern infrastructure, and fast-track approval processes, which attract both domestic and international investors.

The Kerala Government expressed interest in inviting Vietnam as a partner country for future investment events, offering opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to:

  • Showcase their products and services;

  • Explore investment prospects;

  • Expand cooperation in tourism, aviation, ports, logistics, and people-to-people exchanges.

To capitalize on the outcomes of this summit, the Vietnam Trade Office in India encourages Vietnamese enterprises, business associations, and trade-promotion agencies to strengthen cooperation with Kerala in the near future.
