Vietnam Rubber Association Conducts Second 2024 Review of “Vietnam Rubber” Certification Trademark

On December 2, 2024, the Vietnam Rubber Association (VRA) held the second appraisal meeting of the “Vietnam Rubber” certification trademark for 2024. The session was chaired by Mr. Le Thanh Hung, Chairman of the VRA and General Director of Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG), with the participation of 7 out of 11 members of the Appraisal Council and 9 out of 12 members of the Natural Rubber Evaluation Expert Team.

Comprehensive and Rigorous Evaluation Process
According to Mr. Huynh Tan Sieu, Deputy Head of the Natural Rubber Evaluation Team and Head of VRG’s Industrial Division, the 2024 appraisal process was conducted under a streamlined evaluation framework that maintained rigor and transparency. Most units successfully met the evaluation criteria and showed marked improvements compared to 2023.

In 2024, the expert team conducted on-site evaluations of 104 products from 34 factories belonging to 22 units. Results showed that 97 out of 101 evaluated products met the criteria for using the certification trademark.

  • 16 of 96 monitored or renewed products improved their scores.

  • 72 of 96 products had reduced scores compared to the previous cycle.

  • 4 products were not scored as they were not produced in 2024, while 3 products did not meet the minimum 70% score required for certification.

Recommendations from the Expert Council
Based on the appraisal findings and feedback from participating units, the expert team proposed the following to the Appraisal Council:

  • Maintain certification rights for 70 products from 29 factories across 18 companies.

  • Grant new certification rights for 30 products from 13 factories under 10 companies.

  • Suspend re-certification for products not produced during the year, including SVR CV50 (Cam My Factory) of Dong Nai Rubber Corporation.

  • Revoke renewal rights for SVR 3L (Ia Der Factory) of Chu Pah Rubber Co., Ltd. and SVR CV60 (Suoi Ke Factory) of Binh Thuan Rubber Co., Ltd.

  • Reject new certification for SVR 10 (Thuan Dung Factory) of Thuan Loi Rubber Co., Ltd., which failed to meet minimum criteria.

Strengthening Certification Credibility
