
Despite a five-day reduction in working days due to the Lunar New Year holiday and the seasonal low-demand period in January, Vietnam’s exports to Taiwan continued to record positive growth in the first month of 2025.
Trade Value Reaches Over USD 1.93 Billion in January 2025
According to the Taiwan International Trade Administration (TITA), total bilateral trade between Vietnam and Taiwan in January 2025 reached more than USD 1.93 billion, a slight increase of 1.12% year-on-year.
Of this total, Taiwan’s exports to Vietnam reached USD 1.21 billion, down 4.52%, while Taiwan’s imports from Vietnam reached USD 721.65 million, up 12.27% compared with January 2024.
Vietnam’s Export Momentum Continues for the 11th Consecutive Month
TITA statistics show that Vietnam’s exports to Taiwan in January 2025 have now recorded 11 consecutive months of growth since early 2024. The 12.27% year-on-year increase demonstrates Vietnam’s strong and sustained export momentum to the Taiwanese market.
Key export categories showing solid performance include machinery and electromechanical equipment, electronic components, and textiles and garments, among others.
Vietnam Ranks Among Taiwan’s Top 10 Trading Partners
In January 2025, Vietnam was Taiwan’s 9th-largest trading partner, accounting for 2.87% of Taiwan’s total foreign trade turnover. Vietnam was also:
