
HANOI, Vietnam – Vietnam’s pepper industry recorded a strong performance in March 2025, with export revenue jumping 45.6% compared to the previous month, according to preliminary data from the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA).

Vietnam exported 20,244 tonnes of pepper worth USD 141.6 million, representing a 41.3% increase in volume and a 45.6% increase in value compared to February 2025.

The average export price continued to rise:

Black pepper: USD 6,790/tonne, up USD 122 from February

Major Import Markets
The United States remained the largest buyer of Vietnamese pepper, importing 4,388 tonnes—a 46% increase from February. Other key markets included:

India: 1,609 tonnes (+110.1%)

Germany: 1,543 tonnes (+70.5%)

United Arab Emirates (UAE): 1,277 tonnes (+46.8%)

Vietnam also imported 4,940 tonnes of pepper valued at nearly USD 29 million, up 68.7% in volume and 81.3% in value compared with February.

The sharp rise in export value reflects strong global demand and higher international pepper prices. With key markets such as the United States, India, and Europe continuing to boost imports, Vietnam remains a leading global supplier of both black and white pepper.
