
Vietnam’s rubber exports recorded a sharp rebound in May 2022, with both export volume and value increasing strongly compared to the previous month.
According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), citing data from Vietnam Customs, the country exported 114,150 tons of rubber in May, worth nearly USD 195 million — a 45.7% increase in volume and 37.8% increase in value over April.
Exports Continue to Rise for the Third Consecutive Month
Compared with May 2021, rubber exports rose 38% in volume and 36% in value, marking the third consecutive month of year-on-year growth.
In the first five months of 2022, Vietnam exported 599,430 tons of rubber, valued at USD 1.05 billion, up nearly 9% in volume and 13.5% in value compared with the same period in 2021.
The average export price in May was USD 1,707 per ton, down 5.5% month-on-month and 1.5% year-on-year.
