
According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, Vietnam’s tea exports in 2024 reached 146.11 thousand tons, worth USD 256.41 million, marking an increase of 22.0% in volume and 23.2% in value compared to 2023.
The average export price of tea stood at USD 1,755 per ton, up 1.0% year-on-year, reflecting stable demand and improved export quality across key markets.
Key Export Markets Show Strong Growth
In 2024, Vietnam’s tea exports increased significantly to most major destinations:

Pakistan: up 24.2% in volume and 32.9% in value

Taiwan: up 3.8% in volume and 7.3% in value

China: surged 127.6% in volume and 63.5% in value

Indonesia: up 43.3% in volume and 47.8% in value
However, exports to Iraq declined sharply by 43.5% in volume and 40.1% in value, due to market instability and shifting import preferences.

The growth in both volume and export value underscores the competitiveness of Vietnamese tea in the global market. Rising exports to key Asian markets—especially China, Pakistan, and Indonesia—showcase Vietnam’s improved tea quality, diversified product range, and competitive pricing.
