
On the morning of February 17, 2023, the Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG) organized its New Year Customer Gathering for the Year of the Cat (Quý Mão) to strengthen relationships between the Group, its member companies, and loyal customers who have been using VRG’s natural rubber products.
The event brought together over 20 long-term partners and clients, serving as a platform for open discussion on long-term contract formulas, floor pricing mechanisms, product demand, technologies, and Group policies. It also provided an opportunity for mutual sharing of challenges and experiences over the past year, with the aim of enhancing cooperation toward sustainable growth of the rubber industry.
Strengthening Cooperation and Market Adaptation

At the event, Mr. Lê Thanh Hưng, General Director of VRG, presented an overview of the Group’s production and consumption results in 2022, along with its strategic direction and product restructuring plans for the coming years.
Representatives from client companies expressed appreciation for VRG’s continuous support and cooperation.
Mr. Ricoh, General Director of Southland Vietnam, highlighted VRG’s success in promoting Vietnam’s natural rubber brand on the global stage, emphasizing that VRG is now one of the major suppliers in the international rubber market. He also expressed hope for continued collaboration and mutual support in future business activities.
Feedback on Pricing and Market Flexibility
Long-standing partners proposed that VRG should consider adjusting floor prices in line with market trends to facilitate procurement. They also suggested that the Group develop preferential pricing formulas tailored to different customer groups to foster mutual benefits and stable partnerships.
Mr. Phạm Anh Sơn, General Director of Hoa Sen Vàng Co., Ltd., shared the difficulties his company faced amid price volatility and global economic challenges, noting the importance of flexibility and cooperation to navigate the current business climate.
Several companies specializing in latex-based products also called on VRG to increase latex production to meet growing demand for value-added rubber materials.
Commitment to Partnership and Sustainable Growth
Mr. Đỗ Minh Tuấn, General Director of Dong Nai Rubber Company, expressed deep gratitude for the long-standing support and trust of VRG’s customers, noting that the close cooperation in business, technology, and product quality has been key to the company’s development. He expressed optimism that these partnerships will continue to strengthen in the future.
Meanwhile, Mr. Trần Thanh Phụng, Deputy General Director of VRG, acknowledged the difficulties that enterprises faced due to global inflation, geopolitical instability, and the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. He thanked customers for their trust, collaboration, and solidarity, which helped VRG and its member units achieve positive business results in 2022.
Mr. Phụng also encouraged member companies and partners to share experiences, strengthen cooperation, and support one another for continued joint growth.
Appreciation and Future Outlook
In his closing remarks, General Director Lê Thanh Hưng expressed heartfelt thanks to VRG’s loyal customers for their partnership and perseverance during challenging times. He affirmed that VRG would remain committed to listening to customer feedback and adapting its operations to market realities.
Regarding floor and procurement prices, he noted that the Group has authorized its member companies to exercise flexibility to ensure profitability while maintaining stable partnerships.
Mr. Hưng emphasized his hope that customers will continue to stand by VRG in 2023 and beyond, contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam’s rubber industry.
